Why is it important?

The Crowd Monitoring System (CMS) helps in identifying the number of people and check for mask violations etc. through CCTV camera and mapping the crowd of that particular area in near real time. This helps the authorities in managing and planning the movement of crowd and identifying the defaulters. This solution helps in analyzing crowd counting and visualization system which helps authorities to visualize, manage and plan the crowd movement.

What are we trying to do?

A crowd management system is developed to ensure people safety in this COVID-19 times, by monitoring various parameters like temperature, safe distance, wearing masks, etc., campus and keep the crowd in control.This solution has two major components - A video processing module and a location intelligence module. Video processing module consists of AI based crowd mapping to manage the movement of the crowd after consuming the video input captured from CCTV cameras. These features are then spatially matched with the location log of the GPS and then are pushed to a spatial database. Location intelligence module of the software consumes data from this spatial database and then creates spatial and temporal visualization. These visualizations help administrators to visualize the crowd movement in different areas over a period of time.
